January 31, 2018 - The 2017 wildfire season profoundly impacted livelihoods in the BC Interior, including the agricultural sector. Farm producers lost livestock and suffered economic impacts that highlight the need for ongoing preparedness. This webinar will explore key issues associated with relocating livestock in BC emergencies, and summarizes livestock response policies developed by the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Emergency Management BC and the role of local governments. The session will introduce a Template Plan that can be adapted and added to existing Emergency Plans in BC local jurisdictions to assist livestock producers.
